Providing individualised physiotherapy programmes for adults within their own homes.
Over the past 11 years I have treated adults with a variety of conditions and have seen the impact that a regular, timely, physiotherapy programme can make to improving mobility and independence. Giving a person the confidence to live a more active lifestyle and educating and enabling people to take control over their conditions, giving them the tools to self-manage with confidence.
I have worked within the community for many years and have found that this is hugely beneficial to gain a better understanding of people’s needs. People are more relaxed in their home environment creating better relationships to identify their needs.
Timely intervention is key in optimising outcomes. Increased waiting lists and the outfall from the Covid-19 Pandemic has left people waiting longer for treatment and therefore having to live without rehabilitation for longer. At Home 1st Physiotherapy, I believe that providing timely support and interventions can help you achieve your goals.

I have put together some of my most common questions but if there is anything that is not covered here that you wish to know please contact me.
Do you need a large space to assess in?
No, we are used to working in all people’s home, no matter what the size. We just ask that if there are any hazards such as wet floors or tripping hazards that you make us aware when we arrive.
I’m on the ‘vulnerable’ list for Covid-19, what precautions do you take?
Before every visit, we will ensure that there is no one in the household with Covid-19 symptoms and has not tested positive for Covid-19 within the preceding 14 days.
At the initial, 10-minute telephone consultation, we will ascertain as to whether you are classed as vulnerable, if so we can wear masks and can also take a lateral flow test.
We have a rigorous cleaning regime for all of our equipment and ensure that this is undertaken prior to and after all visits.
I am on the waiting list for NHS treatment - can you help me?
Yes! We can contact your NHS Physiotherapist and work in conjunction with them to ensure that you have the optimal care. You will still be entitled to all your usual NHS Treatment.
I have pets, is this ok?
Yes!, we just ask that you put all dogs into a separate room so that we can work without distraction. We also request that you inform us about any pets in the initial 10 minute telephone conversation just so that we are aware.
Can my family/friends attend my appointments?
Yes! We welcome Family and Friends attending the appointment, we just request that this is kept to a maximum of 2 if possible to maximise the use of the time.
I have private medical insurance, can I use your services under my policy?
At present we can not accept medical insurance as payment, however watch this space as we are in the process of becoming an approved insurance supplier.
